Dimensional is a story-driven, first-person puzzle game that puts you into dangerous chambers so that you could save a particular alien race. The gaming experience is quite real, and you would have to act and feel as if you’re actually there.
The game is not just about the action and puzzles. The maker, Brett Jackson, has tried putting in a range of unique scenarios that could be truly appreciated only in VR. Dimensional has a lot of unique experiences that warrants VR. For instance, you would be sliding along a fairly narrow ledge and a large pendulum would swing past your face.
Similarly, you would be jumping off high platforms to test your courage, carefully moving your head via a cramped space filled with spikes, etc. There is a story to be found and you should be able to decipher what’s going on, taking in clues from obscure areas and hidden messages.
You would be indulging in some real-life movements – like walking, ducking, dodging, leaning, jumping to mitigate obstacles and scanning your environment. The chamber puzzles are challenging and you would require reflexes, brains, and some precision to beat them. There is mic support, which means you would also be heard and not just seen.
While in the chambers, you would be moving around, reacting to dangers, manipulating objects, or just standing. The Arcade mode lets you scan the challenges in the game and jump to any of them. The mode can be used to build a unique playlist of VR moments so that you could show it to your friends.
